Award Winning Limesite
Founded in 2015, as a young team of designers and creatives with keen and trained eyes for design and engineering, Wolkberg Casting are collaborators who constantly think outside of the box. Their out of the innovation is a material that is a high performance concrete called Limesite and with this amazing material they are able to produce a number of products such as surfaces for kitchens, bars, cladding, furniture and their extremely popular range of handmade tiles. Their product offering is targeted to the architecture and interior design industry globally. Used by some of the most prestigious interior designers and architectural firms, and they feature in the Gorgeous George Hotel in Cape Town, Life Unframed Ice Cream Parlour and Alice & Fifth Bar in Sandton. All of which was designed by Studio A Tristan Du Plessis and are award winning projects. They have also caught the eye of Nando's and form a part of Nandos portal to Africa making them a preferred supplier in Nandos stores.
COLOR VARIATION
Colour variation is an inherent property of Limesite. In a single colour cast of tiles one can expect many shades of that colour to occur as well as blasts of white. The variation is what makes Limesite tiles so appealing. Colour variation is not a flaw and should be considered when specifying your projects.
DIMENSIONS TEXTURE
Dimension surfaces have a lot of visible movement. Wolkberg new improved
Quad Coat sealer in June 2020 enhances the colour and texture on Dimensions side of the tile.
Surface imperfections are an inherent property of the Dimension side and is not a flaw but rather an aesthetic appeal.
The tiles are hand crafted and quality control procedures will see to it
that there is a level of consistency on the quality.
SILK TEXTURE
Silk surface is a more stable looking surface texture and is smoother to
the touch due to the in-mould finish. The tiles will still have colour variation
but is not as pronounced as the Dimension side.

ADORN CLAD TILES
Wolkberg introduces semi-precious metal inserts and cladding to their tiles. The beauty of this option lies in the precision and attention to detail given to each handmade tile. When polished, the tiles can appear as if they’ve been dipped in gold, silver, or copper, with brushed or polished finishes.
Fully clad tiles are elegant in their own right, suitable for both floors and walls.
Semi-precious metals are resilient and can last a lifetime, even with heavy wear and tear in high-traffic areas.
The aesthetic is bold and daring—a solid, shining tile that adds a moment of excitement to any design.
